About the Team

The sales function drives revenue and growth by nurturing leads through the funnel, closing deals, and employing tactics to retain and grow relationships. The sales team also develops pipelines of customers, and engages in outbound strategies to acquire customers. The sales function is the face of Sydecar to the broader market, reflecting our brand, values, and solutions. The sales function works cross-functionally with marketing, customer support, and product to help Sydecar position itself and acquire customers, drive customer success, and reflect customer feedback to help iterate on our products.

Sales is part of a larger go-to-market team that includes marketing, business operations, and customer experience. Together the go-to-market team seeks to position Sydecar in the market and improve its brand; and also acquire, monetize, and retain customers to drive firmwide growth.

About the Role

Candidates must be based in close proximity to Sydecar's NYC or SF offices, with the expectation of hybrid availability in office.

We are looking for a sales leader who can help Sydecar achieve today’s revenue goals while also helping us build strategies and organizational infrastructure to achieve our growth goals over the next 2-3 years. What You’ll Do

As Director/Senior Director of Sales you will:

  1. Build, maintain, and own the sales pipeline and forecast, and drive activity to achieve team-wide revenue targets;

  2. Develop and execute on sales strategy, process, and tactics to achieve revenue targets and related goals, including outbound motions, pitch materials, customer segment targeting, retention, and revenue mix goals;

  3. Collaborate with business operations/growth to analyze the sales funnel and related metrics to identify areas for improvement;

  4. Support business development and partnership initiatives;

  5. Manage the sales team;

  6. Develop and coach team members to sales excellence, ensuring revenue targets and expectations are met;

  7. Own and close your own deals in addition to providing coaching and guidance to other Sales Team members;

  8. Work with the COO to develop a strategic plan for sales strategy and org design;

  9. Work cross-functionally with marketing, biz ops, customer success, and product teams to drive growth;

About You


  1. Undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university

  2. 5+ years in sales, including carrying quota and managing SDRs and junior sales team members

  3. Experience selling to alternative investments, capital markets, or broader financial services industry

  4. Deep knowledge of CRMs, such as Hubspot or Salesforce

  5. Data-driven and analytical

  6. High EQ and indexed towards identifying and solving critical customer needs

  7. Process-oriented

  8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  9. Successful track record with cross-functional collaboration

Bonus points if you:

  1. Have built or been part of sales orgs that scaled from product-market fit

  2. Have experience breaking into new customer segments and moving a sales org upstream in B2B

  3. Have sold APIs

  4. Have experience in fund administration

  5. Have sold to private fund managers
