Product Design Lead

About the Role

As our Product Design Lead, you will play a key role shaping Sydecar’s design culture, vision, and process. If you can communicate complex ideas and execute on them with speed and accuracy, you’ll be a great fit. In this role, you’ll collaborate with engineers, PMs, and our customer experience team to ensure high-quality user experiences for investors, fund managers, and founders. As you establish yourself in the role, you’ll have opportunities to build out a team and become a leader in the organization.

What you’ll do

Create User-Centered Design: Create exceptional, customer-centric designs by conducting in-depth research, analyzing business and legal requirements, and incorporating customer feedback to develop intuitive and impactful design solutions that drive customer success.
Execute on Projects: Develop and iterate on user flows, create prototypes, and produce high-fidelity visuals for all product features, collaborating closely with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and maintain design consistency across Sydecar products.
Manage a Team: Lead and manage the design team, including hiring and mentoring designers, providing strategic guidance, conducting design reviews, and fostering a collaborative environment to empower the team to deliver outstanding design work.
Align on Strategy: Define and drive the product and research strategy, working closely with cross-functional teams to align design efforts with company goals, ensuring a user-centric approach and delivering a cohesive user experience across the entire Sydecar product portfolio.
Prioritize Effectively: Set design priorities, establish efficient workflows, and assign tasks based on project requirements, timelines, and available resources, ensuring the successful completion of design projects while maintaining high standards of creativity and attention to detail.
Pay Attention to Detail and Speed: Uphold a high bar of creativity, product quality, and attention to detail, while adapting to the fast-paced environment of a growth-stage startup, maintaining a balance between speed and delivering exceptional user experiences.

About You

Holds a bachelor’s degree in Interaction Design/HCI or equivalent experience and 10+ years of experience in product design or UX design.
An expert in designing interactive applications with excellent visual, UI, and interaction skills.
A seasoned design professional with several years of experience leading and managing high-caliber design teams.
A solution-oriented leader who is passionate about design and can think through and explain complex interaction designs.
Demonstrated history of strategic thinking and clear communication, with the ability to lead and influence teams.
Ability to make thoughtful, data-driven decisions and execute them with high velocity.
Someone who enjoys working in a small, close-knit team and is comfortable with hands-on execution.
