The Business Operations function has three core responsibilities: 1) analytics and insights for day-to-day business, 2) growth-oriented actions and experiments across marketing, sales, and customer success, and 3) strategy and planning. Strategy and planning consists of annual firmwide strategic planning, periodic plan review throughout the year, along with special projects aimed at determining our strategic direction, including incubating new businesses/products.

Business operations is part of a larger go-to-market team that includes marketing, sales, and customer experience/success. Together the go-to-market team seeks to position Sydecar in the market and improve its brand; and also acquire, monetize, retain customers to drive the growth of Sydecar.

What You’ll Do

As Business Operations and Strategy Associate you will:

Be the point person on go-to-market planning of new, potentially game-changing, products/businesses. In this capacity, you will quarterback all workstreams while flexing your analytical and operational muscles to contribute directly on workstreams as well.
Support the COO and CEO to drive firmwide strategy. In this capacity, you will assist in annual strategic planning, and quarterly plan and OKR reviews. You will also take on research and related projects, including maintaining competitive assessment documentation, researching new technologies and white spaces, and helping us answer big questions, like, “should we scale horizontally or vertically?”, or “what is our enduring competitive advantage?”
Help drive efficiency and scalability by improving and building systems and processes for various operational functions across go-to-market and admin teams.
Support the day-to-day business operations and growth function by leveraging our data analytics to execute growth-oriented experiments and initiatives.
Support the Go-To-Market team in developing our understanding and analysis of customer segments.

About You

Requirements:

Undergraduate degree from an accredited university with a strong academic record.
2-4 years experience in management/strategy consulting, business operations or strategy in house, or investment banking.
Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including modeling.
Excellent written and verbal communications, including PowerPoint.
Excellent analytical skills, with rigor and attention to detail.
Ability to work cross-functionally and get deliverables from colleagues, including seniors, not in your reporting line.
Self-starter who can work with uncertainty in a startup environment.
Data-driven.

Have a graduate degree
Graduated from a top university
Have experience in fintech, capital markets, alternative investments, or financial services
Have data skills, such as ability to do SQL queries or work with business intelligence tools.
